This trip will include two historic sites. First we will meet at the Florence Indian Mound for a tour with artifacts, trip to top of the mound, and short film on history of the area's Native American history. Then at 11:00 we will visit Pope's Tavern, with a tour of the hospital and residential space, the slavery and cotton exhibit, and a quick archaeology activity. Afterward we will have lunch/ice cream at nearby Trowbridge's in downtown Florence as well as see the beautiful UNA lions exhibit.
Admission will be $2 each for students and adults are $5 each. Bring picnic lunch to have on your own, or bring money for lunch and ice cream.
