SIGN UP CLOSED 3/23/23 10:00   Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, Fantasy-Overture features a score filled with the innocence and heartfelt passion of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved works. Get a behind the scenes look at the composition with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra through themes, motifs, and more! Conductor Chris Confessore will divide this epic piece into sections to illustrate how music can be used to tell a story.

3/24/23 12:30  Spring Park Day at Orr Park in Montevallo  Join us for some outdoor fun at Orr Park in Montevallo. There is a field for kite flying or frisbee throwing, trails for walking, a playground, room to ride bikes, skateboards, scooters, etc. as well as a creek for exploring.

Oak Mountain State Park

April 20 9:45 am   This three class program will be tons of fun! We will learn about Birds on the Boardwalk, have an Adventure Hike, enjoy a picnic lunch and then end with a Scales and Tails program. Admission to the program is $5 per person. Admission to the park is paid separately, when you arrive at the gate to Oak Mtn. Please have cash handy: $5 for 12 and up, $2 ages 4-11, and under 4 are free.

Plan to join us on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023 from 12:30pm to 2pm at Jones Valley Teaching Farm.  Field trips at JVTF’s Center for Food Education are wrapped around our flagship program, Good School Food. This hands-on education model connects students to food, farming, and the culinary arts through standards-based, cross-curricular lessons during the school day. If you have a kindergartner or senior who wishes to participate in our graduation ceremony on May 21, please RSVP to this event to let me know your interest (this is not a commitment to number of guests) and details will be emailed soon regarding the ceremony, cap and gown orders, and more. We look forward to celebrating these accomplishments with your student and family! *All seniors wishing to graduate formally will need to submit a pending transcript by March 15, and then a final transcript before participating in graduation.
