Alabama Ballet is pleased to announce the return of our FREE Student Show Matinees for our 2020-2021 season! We hope your students, kindergarten through 12th grade, can join us for one, or all four of our major productions this season. We know that you understand the importance of exposing your students to the arts and we appreciate that you recognize the benefits of bringing them to see our professional ballet company perform classical and contemporary works.
First up is George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®! Alabama Ballet is proud to present George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® as one of only eight companies in the world licensed by The Balanchine Trust to perform this holiday masterpiece. Tchaikovsky’s beloved melodies transport the young and young at heart to a magical world where mischievous mice besiege a battalion of toy soldiers, and an onstage blizzard leads to an enchanted Land of Sweets.

Pricing is as follows: Students – Free, Teachers – $25 and Chaperones – $25. We also have special pricing for senior groups of just $25 each. To make reservations go to https://alabamaballet.org/school-show-matinee/ and fill out the form.
*In order to implement social distance seating each family will need to make their own reservation online. No tickets will be mailed for these performances. Seats are assigned by the venue and there will be at least 6 feet of distance between each family. You will receive an email with your seat assignment prior to the date of the performance and you need to print this email and bring it with you to find your seats.
*Masks will be required by all audience members. No exceptions will be made so please do not bring children or infants who are too young to keep their mask on for the entire performance.
