Dear SCCS families,

Anyone else looking forward to some warm weather? While I appreciate the change of seasons and the variety of temperatures, I'm growing weary of the lack of outside time for our children, and myself too! You may feel the same with cooped up kiddos, and I just want to encourage you to hold on, hopefully for just a little longer!

This past weekend was the first Refresh Homeschool Moms' Retreat. It was an encouraging time, and I am so grateful that many of you were able to join us for this wonderful experience. Our theme verse was Psalm 116:7 which says "Return to your rest, Oh my soul, for the Lord has been good." This theme was prominent throughout the sessions as our main speaker focused on how we can find simplicity and joy in our routines and activities and school. I needed the reminder and assume many of you do too. To fellowship, worship, relax, and receive exhortation from such wise speakers was a powerful thing.

I highly encourage you to consider joining us next February, and not just because it's something our school is sponsoring. I think all of us as wives and mothers can benefit from the idea of refreshing. Whether you were at the retreat or not, I am praying that you are able to find time to soak in some Scripture, visit with an uplifting friend, and remember how greatly you are loved and how vital the role is that you serve in daily. I appreciate your dedication and focus on your family, and I understand how big this job feels. I'm there with you, and see more than ever that this calling and responsibility can only be met through His strength. May you lean on Him every minute! He is faithful.
