Dear SCCS parents,
Happy first week of school to many of you! I prayed this morning for a great week for ya'll, as I know a lot of families are staying close to the local public school calendar. I love seeing your photos on social media and the enthusiasm in your students' faces.
There are numerous deadlines approaching for ordering tickets for the Alabama ballet performances, Alabama Symphony Orchestra shows, and Birmingham Children's Theatre tickets. While we are posting on the Remind app for these as well, I don't know if everyone is accustomed to checking that regularly yet so we will continue to send reminders via email occasionally as well. If you're ever in doubt about dates please remember to check the Events listed on the website. Speaking of Remind, please sign up for this helpful aid if you haven't. Details on how to do that are on a previous Blog entry.
Teacher/Student IDs are in process of being made so look for those to arrive soon if you requested any.
This month we still have a skate party, teen game night, park day, High Point climbing day, and moms' support meeting, so mark your calendar if you plan to join us for any of those! The deadline for the Aldridge Gardens trip is early September as well if you want to sign up for that.
The middle and high school debate teams start meeting next Tuesday for practice. If you intend to join us for this semester, I need to know so please email me and I can pass along other details that were given at last week's info meeting.
Finally, Church School Enrollment forms were sent to you with your acceptance email. If you are a new SCCS family, or have a new student, please mail those to your local superintendent by the end of next week and send a copy to me via email or regular mail. Let me know if you have any questions about this important form.
