Dear SCCS families,

Happy official first day of Summer! We have been enjoying the different pace as a family since school ended, and hope you are doing the same. Though we do not have a great deal of news because it is not the season for regular field trips, I did want to share a few things with you.

ENROLLMENT
June 30 is the last day for enrollment applications to be received. If you have yet to re-enroll, or have friends considering joining SCCS, please remember this date is quickly approaching. The FAQ section of the school website has answers to some common questions for those who are new to our school, as well as enrollment details. Feel free to contact me at this email with any additional inquiries.

CHURCH SCHOOL ENROLLMENT FORMS
If you have recently enrolled with SCCS and have never submitted a CSE form to your school system's Board of Education superintendent, this needs to be done by the end of the first week of school wherever you are zoned. A copy needs to be kept for your records and a copy needs to be mailed to me as well. This form was attached with the acceptance email, and many of you have already sent your copies to me. If you are re-enrolling with SCCS, you do NOT have to resubmit this form if your address and other details remain the same as the last time you mailed in your form.

PARENT MEETING
Please mark your calendars! The meeting for all new parents to receive handbooks, buy school t-shirts, hear about field trips and other activities is July 27 at 6:30 at Shelby Crossings in building B. At least one parent from each new family should be in attendance as this is the only schoolwide meeting we have all year. There is no childcare, but children are welcome to come as long as they can sit quietly beside you. We are very conscientious about keeping this meeting limited to one hour and have done so for several years now. I am available afterward for as long as needed for those who may need to talk, but the material I will cover is completed by 7:30 to respect your time and you are free to leave at that point.

BERRY PICKING
We love to pick blueberries at Grabuck Farms near Oak Mountain and always get lots of delicious berries for a great price. You're welcome to go on your own, but if you'd like to join us, we are going to pick this Thursday at 8:30 weather permitting, and would love to see friends! The address is 14 Berry Ln, Pelham, Al 35124. The price is $2/pound and you can bring your own bucket or use some they provide while you're there.

Have a great week!
