I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.  Philippians 1:3-6

Dear SCCS parents,

First of all, I want to echo Paul's words and let you know that I am thankful for you! Our school obviously would not be the awesome group it is without your unique, precious families joining us. It is so nice to hear positive things said about our group, as I have had the pleasure of being witness to in all these ways, just in the past two months: by tour guides at field trip locations; through referrals of new families to SCCS; in the community as people hear that I am associated with this school and compliment our families; and online as I see your gracious attitudes on various social media platforms. When we say we are believers, we are representing Christ, so I pray that we continue to do so - as individuals, families, and a school - in a way that honors His name. Thanks for being part of SCCS, and for encouraging each other so well.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Stanford Achievement Tests will be offered again this spring. Our school annually offers optional standardized testing for students in grades 3 and older. The approximate cost for materials is $50-75/student. If you are interested in future information about the Otis Lennon and Stanford Achievement Tests, please RSVP on the website under this event.

Standardized tests are not the only method of evaluating students' level of competency but they do offer some helpful and objective information, especially to the parent-teacher, so that we are able to see areas of mastery and the subjects that may need more emphasis in the future. I recommend students begin taking them every other year (starting around third or fourth grade) to also help the students learn to improve their test-taking skills. Whether we like it or not, most levels of higher education depend on test scores as one method of student evaluation and acceptance.  Tests will be given in April or early May, at Shelby Crossings in Calera.

Re-enrollment begins soon. We will admit a limited number of new families, and will require a referral by a currently/previously enrolled family this year. I will email you when we open enrollment and post on the website as well.

Have a wonderful month, and I hope to see you at one of the events below! Contact me via email or text any time please, and use the Facebook group to share/ask questions of the group as a whole.
